In May, we were thrilled to attend the Design for Urban Disaster Conference in Boston, sponsored by many great organizations, including Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Oxford Brookes University, Habitat for Humanity, and Harvard Humanitarian Initiative among others!

The conference addresses three key themes:
1. Response – efforts to improve relief and recovery practice;
2. Resilience – building the capacity of a system, community or society potentially exposed to hazards to adapt;
3. Transformation – fundamental change that results in the substantial reduction of a population’s vulnerability.
