For over 30 years, Neena Jain MD MSTPH DTM&H has thrived in international Humanitarian Assistance and Global Health as Program Manager, Country Medical Director, Health Sector Lead, and Technical Advisor with many international non-governmental organizations throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. These agencies have included Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders, International Medical Corps, Australian Aid International, and Save The Children, among others.
In 2014, she co-founded and is the Executive Director of emBOLDen Alliances, a global nonprofit located in CO whose mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable communities through collaborative partnerships that embolden the quality and impact of service.
Dr. Jain was Board-certified in Emergency Medicine in 2001 and practiced as an Attending Physician at Swedish Medical Center and Denver Health Medical Center Emergency Departments. She developed programmatic structure and taught core content using innovative techniques as Director and Deputy Director for the Program in Humanitarian Assistance and Adjunct Faculty for the Global Health Affairs Program at the University of Denver Korbel School of International Studies. Dr. Jain co-directed the Tropical Medicine Course and mentored students as Senior Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver Health Sciences Center. In addition, she completed epidemiologic studies and public health projects as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Jain completed her studies for a BA in Human Biology at Stanford University, MS in Tropical Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, MD at SUNY Brooklyn Health Sciences Center, and Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She was clinically trained as a General Surgery resident at Oregon Health Sciences University and Emergency Medicine resident at Denver Health Medical Center, including serving as a Chief Resident for the program
She has been honored with scholarship to Harvard School of Public Health, Alpha Omega Alpha membership, Vince Markovchick Excellence in Emergency Medicine Residency Award, eTown eChievement Award, and International Women’s Day Woman Leading Change Pathfinder Award.
Bill Rohs brings a dynamic and diverse background to emBOLDen Alliances, with over 10 years direct field experience in humanitarian assistance and international development combined with 15 years of business and restaurant ownership and management, as well as proven capability in and dedication to education. In addition, Bill has worked for many years in construction and is trained in Industrial Design as well as Art Education.
Bill has worked in many difficult and remote settings, many of which were in post-crisis situations, throughout Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean with several international nongovernmental organizations, including Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children, and International Medical Corps.
Bill has extensive expertise in Operations and Logistics having run many field operations and managing scores of field staff. A sample of the programs Bill has helped operationalize and see through to success include: mass vaccination campaigns in northern Nigeria, dental and vision clinics in remote Himalayan areas of northern India, vehicle pools and warehouse coordination in post-earthquake Haiti, inventory management and hospital equipment maintenance in Niger, and Train-the-Trainer and Leadership courses in Burma.
