CU Peru

This student-led and student-run organization supports and trains Community Health Workers in the Peruvian Amazon. Their student leadership is in constant turnover due to academic years and graduation of leaders. They approached emBOLDen Alliances for guidance in leadership development, strategic planning, creating and maintaining institutional memory, and building applied project management skills amongst its members. Working directly with organization leaders, we created and implemented specialized, specific sessions for:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Leadership Development
  • Operations & Logistics
  • Safety & Security

Feedback we received from the Head of CU Peru’s Logistics Committee included the following:

  • Our work on designing and maintaining Trip Reports is helping them remain accountable to members and communities, measure the progress of their work, define expectations for all stakeholders, and document challenges and successes.
  • Helping CU Peru strengthen their New Member Orientation is building professionalism, active participation, and responsibility.
  • In addition, both of these efforts assist with streamlining and supporting travel and security logistics for work while in Peru.
